texte = I forgot to post a solution that I found to my crashing problem... On Saturday, I reported that I uploaded a new version of my site with some extensive changes to the WebDNA code. I had fully tested out the site on a development server and only expereinced the crashing when running on the real server. I suspected that the crashing (type 2 and 3) was due to the traffic load that was on my real server vs. my development server. That was not true. The problem is that I also changed one preference in the meantime. You see my members database has over 10,000 records in it. So I changed the maximum found items to return preference to 10,000. I did this, because I do have a few admin searches where I do want to be able to search for and return and do something with all the records in the database.Apparently, some users were able to hit one of the search pages and search for say a in a UserName and the amount of returned items was crashing the server.Changing the maximum found items down to a number like 500 has solved the crashing problem completely. (This was on Sunday that I made that change). So this begs a number of questions.Considering that the total database size is less then 3MB and that w* never reported less then 45 MB avaliable and since there is still another 80 MB left of RAM for the system to consume.... (ie... there's till plenty of memory available.)1) Why did the server crash?2) What if I really want to return 10,000 records?3) Waht if I want to return more records... my database is growing at ~200 records per day.3) What am I missing here? Thanks, ___Joe____________________________________________________ Joseph D'Andrea JoeDan@West21.com WEST21.com Internet services for the 21st Century http://www.west21.com/ _________________________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------- Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server.
