Why would a period need to be URL encoded? This isn't specific to the wbrk parameter. In general, all parameters in WebDNA tags need to be URLized in case they contain bad characters (just like they do in a URL). I didn't mean to imply that this was specific to wbrk - discussion of URLizing parameters is featured in the manual. The reason I emphasized it here is because common word break characters (especially ' ' and '+') are invalid URL characters. Many people don't URLize things consistently. However, in this particular case, the problem wasn't with the URLizing at all. I just harp on it whenever I can because most code that I see doesn't consistently URLize when necessary.>2. Why has it taken more than six months of discussion on this list >culminating with a virtual yelling match to get this simple answer? >It's really no surprise that many of us have written this off as a bug in >Webcat after so much discussion without even a peep of an answer by your >people.I don't know the answer to that. Obviously the new support staff are still coming up to speed on some of the minor features of WebDNA. We've recently implemented a program to escalate issues on the talk list up the ladder so they are all dealt with accurately. Unfortunately, it's impractical for everyone here to monitor the list carefully. This new system should prevent things from slipping between the cracks.
