I think that a really good place to start would be to get rid of the 25 or so FAQ's that SM's current support page consists of, dump the contract of the back end engine, make a searchable archive of problems by platform, known issues, fixes, work arounds, code snippets etc using webcatalog. The archives list is nice, but one must wade through so much to get the answer that you're looking for, and now, if you don't know where it is - you'd never find it.Show some pride, use your own product and show the world what it can do.If you really want to show what it can do, why don't you pick a couple of sites that your SM is actively pursuing, building and designing and deconstruct them. Let us peek at what you're doing with the code and how you are using. Show people how easy, efficient and secure it is.If, as you suggest, SM is looking out for all of us, then getting people to use Webcat to its potential should be a priority.Steps such as these, I think would get a lot of traffic off the list and allow the list to deal with the really tricky stuff instead of, as was mentioned earlier today, find and replace type of questions. Also, show different kinds of example of what else can be done with Webcat? But explain them - show and tell like - make it easy for people to say I get it and then, follow up with good support.Check out how Macromedia's support pages work. They don't have all the answers, but they have tips'n'tricks on every product that they make, a searchable archive, lists to links, lists to Flash sites, etc. Look around and see what's out there that works. Get out of the box that you're sitting in.Be proactive!!For example, webcatalog seems like a great product to work in conjunction with Flash. That's my next project, but, are their any example of these two products working together. There are a lot of Flashers out there looking to take their skills to the next level.Saturn Cars has one of the highest satisfaction rates of all new car buyers. Why is that? Is it because when you buy a new car they put your picture up on the wall? No, but it might have something to do with perceived effort, interest and a new way of doing the same old thing. So, what's holding you back? Must be the packing tape on that big box. ------------------------------------------------------------- Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server.
