Since it checks the main whois, no one else(registrars) no if you found anything. If it does find the domain it does a reverse lookup for the IP address, then parses the returned data and loads it into a modification form for that particular registrar. (I currently only have 3 registrars loaded.)If it doesn't exist It then loads it as a new request with my dns and technical information. If submitted, it registers it to my account. I don't mind sharing it, but it will only work on unix (the [shell] command rules, and MacOSX rocks) and you will have to adapt it to your account info, unless you WANT me to host your sites. If your interested drop me a note, I will share it unencrypted.I also plan on having it add a website, users, setup the SuperCatalog store, setup ftp/dns, and everthing restart the server instance all in one fell swoop, now that will be one happy customer. I am one lazy SOB, I just want them to do it all themselves. ;)But that is yet to come, send me lots of money and I will finish it sooner, cause I won't have to make a livin with these piddly jobs. ;)Robert Minor Director of Internet Services ------------------------------------------------------------ Cybermill Communications http://www.cybermill.com http://www.merchantmaker.comProviding Ecommerce and interactive website development and hosting services on Macintosh, Windows NT, Unix, and AS/400.> From: Joseph D'Andrea > Reply-To: (WebCatalog Talk) > Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2000 15:43:04 > To: (WebCatalog Talk) > Subject: A better WebCat whois (was Re: [OT] Domain Name Scam) > > With thanks to James Howarth for yesterday's WebCat whois... > > I finally found a reason to use those Powered By logos that so many > software licensors are so fond of! > > Here's a quick hack which (in one step... unlike some other > developer's hack) will query the internic whois server and then the > appropriate registrar's whois server for all the registration > information for a domain name. > > http://dev.west21.com/whois.tpl > > > > At 9:52 PM -0800 3/7/00, James Howarth wrote: >>> From the comfort of your own home... in WebCatalog. >> >> [TCPConnect host=internic.net&port=43] >>
