So, unless you create a symlink in each virtual host home or modify ErrorTemplate to walk the directory tree ([appendfile file=../../httpd/html/WebCatalog/ErrorLog.txt...) you won't get errors in ErrorLog.txt. This is more a lack of documentation than a bug. The ErrorTemplate is somewhat explained in the doc but not in the context of virtual hosts. Also, when trying to view the error log through the admin interface, you get the following error:Forbidden You don't have permission to access /WebCatalog/ErrorLog.txt on this server. The standard installation disables the access to the errorlog: deny from all You won't be able to view/clear the errorlog until you modify it: Order deny, allow deny from all allow from my.C.class The original is OK because it's very safe. The only problem is that there is no mention of it in the docs eventhough ALL webmaster have to make the change if they ever want to see the errors through the admin i/f.'Hope this helps.Clem.GHulbert@smithmicro.com wrote: > > We are having trouble duplicating a reported bug which people are > saying that the error log is not being written to under Linux.
