I will not get a chance to test the [object] context, for example. I will get to the XML-style syntax as soon as I can (probably Monday at this rate). I made sure the [if], [switch], [convertwords], and [grep] worked as advertised, because I will have immediate uses for them. I tested the things I knew were broken (like [max] inside search contexts, thanks Grant).I don't expect anything for my work except a better program; that is the real goal of beta testing. I spend too much time during the day answering questions because I can, not just on this list, but others as well. I have even submitted patches to the Perl developer list, not because I want/need the acclamation of my peers but because I want a better program and I figure that will help someone else out. Maybe that person will help me some day.John PeacockDerek C. wrote: > > Ugh, why does everyone have to get something for doing anything > nowadays... we have got about a zillion projects going right now, and > we have little time to do them, but we have dedicated a significant > amount of time and resources to beta testing WebCat 4... why you ask? > what do we get out of it? well, first off, we get the satisfaction of > knowing that we are helping to make a product that we and you all > rely heavily on better, and secondly, we get the knowledge that when > thisa product comes out, it will be as bugless as we could hope for. > that is incentive enough for us... think of it this way, would you > beta test Diablo II (or the next version of your favorite game) for > free... > > Just my thoughts on the matter. > > Derek############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
