Peter Ostry answered this way and works great for me:---------------------No way with summ alone, because this parameter is *supposed* to deliver unique values. You might search for existing categories with summ, and get the number of each category in a second (nested) search. For the example I assume your database field is named db_cat. Don't miss allcase=t in the nested search, because this makes it much faster: [search db=my.db&neDB_CATdatarq=[blank]&DB_CATsort=1&DB_CATsumm=t] [founditems] [text]v_cat=[db_cat][/text] [search db=my.db&eqDB_CATdatarq=[v_cat]&allcase=t] [v_cat] ([numfound)
[/search] [/founditems] [/search] Note: If you do not have all available categories in the database but want those categories listed like cat4 (0) you can't use the nested search. Then you search for each known category seperately. Peter ----------------------Hope this help. -Rodolfo de la Garza El 6/10/00 8:49 AM, Joseph D'Andrea JoeDan@West21.com escribió:> I've asked this question twice before and never received any answer, > so I'm going to try one more time... > > Will there be a variable that contains the number of items found for > each [founditems] when doing a search with summ=t ? > > Given this database: > joe 11215 > mary 11215 > tom 11236 > > And this WebDNA > [search ...
