Why would one variable type have the ability to be overridden and the other is not, are math variables more important or more dangerous?V3.0. All variables may be overridden. No security. This is definitely a concern.V4.0 Text variables may be overridden if coded appropriately Math variables may never be overridden This is just a patching of a hole without a clear policy. We do this type of programming on Net.data/OS400 all the time, and they are one of the securest platforms around. Yet they don't view this as a security hole. Of course some variables may not be overridden like showsql! Please rethink this policy and open the language instead of closing it.Robert Minor Director of Internet Services ------------------------------------------------------------ Cybermill Communications http://www.cybermill.com http://www.merchantmaker.comProviding Ecommerce and interactive website development and hosting services on Macintosh, Windows NT, Unix, and AS/400.############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
