Re: Presenting a .txt file

It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 35248
interpreted = N
texte = This is a response to al old post, but...I discovered that Webcat will properly process HTML tags in the description field if the store was built with StoreBuilder, or uses the same methodology. For instance I put several paragraphs in the description field:

This is a test of multiple paragraphs

This is the second paragraph

Lo and behold my web browser displayed 2 paragraphs. Cool! So I tried it with BOLD and ITALIC tags i.e. this is bold and that worked too!!Then I tried using meta tags so the text would not display but I can find items based upon keywords. That worked too!!BUT... If you use Microsoft Excel or Word to manage your database for backside integration, you will be dismayed to find that when Excel detects the bold or italic tags, it tries to interpret them, and subsequently will refuse to import the fields as individual rows and columns. Instead it will load the entire database into one cell!! OUCH!Word is worse. It will think the page is HTML but of course improperly formatted HTML so it will try to fix it, fail, and break into it's debugger which will also fail, after which you must quit because you won't be able to close the fatal document.The other tags work though. No fancy coding necessary. -- Sincerely, Bob Sneidar Systems Manager The Word For Today> From: Alan > Reply-To: (WebCatalog Talk) > Date: Thu, 29 Jun 2000 15:00:31 > To: (WebCatalog Talk) > Subject: Presenting a .txt file > > Is there a way to present .txt files by using the SKU from [founditems] > in a database search? > > My customer has hundreds of items with rather long product descriptions > (2 or 3 paragraphs each) that need to be displayed.
