texte = Hello Group,We're running a relatively heavy loaded intranet site which uses dozens of databases and lots of nested searches. The machine is Mac G4/500 Workgroup server w/ 512 MB memory running MacOS X Server 1.2. The site has two peak times of the week when all the clients come in at the same time, on tuesday and friday afternoons. It has been successfully ran for a year and a half now on a G4/350 Mac with 256 MB and MacOS 8.6.But now, with MacOS X version of WebCatalog 4.0, every tuesday afternoon, WebCatalog crashes, with browser only displaying an error message Cant allocate server IPC port; WebCatalog application not running?. This far, for two weeks now, I have only restarted the server. But this happening once a week is unacceptable to me.I found this from the WebCat-talk archives, which describes the same problem, with suggested solution of rebooting. Aren't there any other way around this? Of course I could use a crontab script to reboot a couple times a week after or before peak hours, but I really wouldn't want any added downtime (server is also a fileserver) unless there are no other alternatives.Cheers, Mikko-- Mikko Peltonen +358-40-7725 789------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
