texte = When I add emailsumm=T to a search, how does WebCatalog handle this exactly? The reason I ask is the following:I have a database, orders.db, which contains all of the info regarding each order placed. In the normal course of things, when I want to advertise a sale, a run a search on this db, like so:[search db=orders.db&neemaildata=[blank]&emailsumm=T] [founditems] [sendmail...]Of course the emailsumm=T ensures that only one email is sent per customer. Now, suppose I run a sale. Customer A, whose name is already recorded in orders.db, orders again. So, now she has two records in orders.db. Two weeks later, I want to send out another email advertisement of the sale, but I *don't* want anyone who has already ordered during the sale to get an email. So, my search can change to:[search db=orders.db&neemaildata=[blank]&emailsumm=T] [founditems] [hideif [orderdate]>08/01/2001] [sendmail...]But, I don't know which [email] in the db the fieldsumm chooses. Is it the first one it encounters? Or, does WebCat somehow write the summed emails to a buffer and then spit one out when it's done reading the whole db?If I know exactly how summing works, I can arrange my search to find the sale records first or last, so that the emails will be sent correctly...Will Starck NovaDerm skin care science http://www.novaderm.com -techs@novaderm.com 800-378-1740 800-378-1740------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
