texte = Thanks John, basically what we have is this:On our website we have files called inserts that have the details forevery item that we sell.We have two websites on two separate servers, one is our test website andthe other one is the live website. They are both structured in the same way.We have a Text editor that writes the insert and names it accordingly andthat needs to be in both websites. For now we have to go and manually copythe file from one server to another, I was hoping that webcatalog would doit for us but it seems this can't be done :O(.I guess for now we have to live with it like it is.Pedro Rivera - Webmasterwww.pssl.com-----Original Message-----From: John Peacock [mailto:jpeacock@rowman.com]Sent: Monday, November 05, 2001 11:26 AMTo: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.comSubject: Re: Moving files from one server to another...Pedro Rivera wrote:> > WebCat 4.0 NT server 4.0 IIS.> > We're writing some files on our server and need to copy them to another> server using webcat.> > Is this possible? or can one not copy files across to another server? Not unless you want to drive map one server to another! You are limited toexactly the same things that you could do if you walked up to the firstserverand tried to copy the files to the second. You can use [shell] and ftp (orrsync, scp, etc.). You can upload the files via HTTP using [tcpconnect](don't go down that road: the hills are steep, winding, and overlook a BIGchasm ;~).WebCat is not able to magically quantum tunnel files from one server to another. Re-examine what you are trying to accomplish.HTHJohn-- John PeacockDirector of Information Research and TechnologyRowman & Littlefield Publishing Group4720 Boston WayLanham, MD 20706301-459-3366 x.5010fax 301-429-5747-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
