texte = Hello,When my new servers get here I will be moving from Mac OS to Linux. I know on Mac OS it is not a smart idea to put thousands and thousands of files in the same directory.I have an idea to convert a large number of searches on my existing site to static html pages that get written whenever hat specific data has changed. This would require creating initially about 10,000 directories all in the same folder (and hopefully 10's of thousands more soon).Does anyone know if having say 50,000 directories within a single directory is a problem for Linux?E.g. /users/username1/ /users/username2/ /users/username3/ /users/username4/ /users/username5/ /users/username6/And most importantly, would WC 4.x have a problem manipulating them? WC would be responsible for creating/deleting folders and the content within each folder. The user folders would have normal amounts of files, say between 3-30.ThanksDale ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
