texte = Well, I played around with Textpad, Homesite, MultiEdit and Just played with Edit+ this morning. So far, I see these as the major pros and cons:TextPad:Pros:-Simple-WebDNA Templates for quick insertion-cheap (approx. $41 USD)Cons:-Almost TOO simple It's like Notepad w/ color-No internal FTP or opening projects from an FTP serverMultiEditPros:-What can't it do?-Very Customizable-Love the collapsible code featureCons:-Most expensive ($199 USD)-Interface is not intuitive... will take longer to learn-I only need this for WebDNA and HTML, I have Visual Studio for everything else I need-Only limited to 255 concurrent open files? :)Macromedia Homesite ($99 USD)Pros:-Intuitive interface-Easiest of the four to use-Collapsible code feature is killer.Cons:-Getting the FTP set up was not fun-Must store files on your local machine and Deploy them to the server a la Dreamweaver-style-Couldn't figure out how to make a custom tag without < and > (because <[include ^nav.inc]> just won't work).Edit+Pros:-Fairly Easy to use-WebDNA templates available-Cheapest ($30 USD)-Open and Save to Remote FTPCons:-Some things are buried in menus (Where can I change what colors the code displays as?)-Is it just the trial version, or does the remote FTP never display folder names?-Can't move the toolbar on the left side-User Interface is a little clumsy at times... maybe I just need to get used to it.So it's down to Homesite and Edit+, definitely more playing tonight.
