I am pretty sure that you should only have to edit two files - 'c_cell.inc' and 'calendar.inc' to ensure that the date appears as {[the_month]/[the_day]/[the_year]}. Ironically prior to version 4.0 the code used to use US style dates as [math] wouldn't work correctly with Irish style dates.
