texte = The docs say nothing to suggest that a text variable cannot have a blank space in its name, but it seems as if that's what I have discovered ...The docs do not say that webdna will fail to set a text variable if there's a blank space in the name. Instead, this is what the docs say:The Text context looks for an equal sign = in the body of the text, and if it finds one, assumes you are assigning a new value to a new text variable. If no equal sign is present in the body of the text, it assumes you want to retrieve the value of a previously-stored variable.Of course I have an equal sign in both of these text contexts:[text]my site=my site[/text] [text]my web site=my web site[/text]My goal was to create these two text variables so I could use tags like [my site] and [my web site] in the rest of the page to make it easier to know just what text would be shown in the link. But when I tried this, it doesn't work. Instead, webdna displays the raw [my site] and [my web site] tags, as if the variables were not set via the above text contexts, because in fact they are not set as expected based on the info in the docs.As soon as I change the above code to the following (and when I change the tags to match these variable names) everything works fine again:[text]mySite=my site[/text] [text]myWebSite=my web site[/text]Therefore, I think someone at SMSI would be doing us all a favor by describing this limitation in the HTML docs. Or if this is not supposed to be a limitation in the webdna language, then maybe someone at SMSI can fix the engine code so it no longer imposes this limitation upon us.Thanks.
