texte = I have something more than half implemented for this. I stopped working on it a while ago due to lack of time and loss of interest..but it's been one of those projects I've been considering resuming lately. I'm quoting this from memory now, so I'm pretty sure everything I'm saying here is right. What I have right now allows for multiple user accounts. Each user account allows for multiple sub-accounts. Sub accounts were primarily expected to be POP3. It allows for leaving mail on the mail server no matter what, to sync deleted emails with the mail server, or to delete all mail from server once downloaded.I didn't implement attachments yet (neither for mail that has attachments, or sending mail with attachments).Interface is there to allow for filtering, but filtering is not yet enabled. In essence, I tried to emulate the combined feature list of Hotmail and Eudora, and there's a lot in place for this functionality, but still much remains to be coded to enable those features.I wanted to add a little more smarts to it so that if sending mail to a user on the same system (like sending hotmail to another hotmail user) it would bypass POP3 and SMTP altogether and just go right to the mail database for that instant send gratification. An IMAP server isn't really necessary at all for this implementation, but then again, you may not have the desire to be storing email in Webcat databases. However, with the functionality of the POP3 implementation, it is entirely possible to use the code strictly for viewing/interacting with email from a POP3 server and never putting it into a database at all. I actually have a stripped down webcat mail program that does exactly that.-howard At 04:50 PM 1/9/2003 -0600, you wrote: >Hi, >Has anyone done something like hotmail with WebDNA? > >Is this what they call IMAP? > >I suppose one needs an IMAP compatible email server. > >Donovan >-- > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > ><><> Donovan Brooke <><>->ï > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > >------------------------------------------------------------- >This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to > the mailing list . >To unsubscribe, E-mail to: >To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > >Web Archive of this list is at: http://webdna.smithmicro.com/Howard Wolosky ------------------------ howard@wolosky.com------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
