SoftRaid had a show of there latest Raid product at Macworld in January.email support@softraid.com and speek with mark.I can reccommend them because a couple years ago I made a risky decision with our file server of either a hardware raid system or the use of the cheaper SoftRaid. I have been very happy with softraid and it has worked flawlessly. Though I am 95% sure SoftRaid is more stable, faster etc. than OSX's built in RAID, I will say that with softraid there is always seems to be a the product will be here soon feeling.For the release that is going to happen any day now (vers 3) they will only offer R0 and R1. For most, this is just fine. However, they told everyone originally it was going to have R5 and probably R4 also. I now don't expect those features for some time.R5 seems to be the best way to go for uptime, stability and performance. It seems to have all the features.One more point. Even with RAID and Daily Backups using Retro... the paranoid folk might want to consider a rotation in case of physical damadge such as fire.
