texte = I just wanted to present some factual information for anyone that may havegrown concerned due to the recent characterization by Ken that we have'abandoned' Mac OS/9, as his assertion is based upon incomplete informationand inaccurate assumptions. There are well thought out reasons why we have not made a WebDNA 5.0 versionfor Mac OS/9. These include the following: the XML/XSLT processors are notavailable for the Mac OS/9 platform; and, the implementation of the Sandboxfunctionality and the variable Scope tag are based upon OS primitives thatare not available on the Mac OS/9 platform. Additionally, given the linkageof the WSDL Wizard to the XML/XSLT processors, and the Content Managementapplication to Sandbox functionality, if we were to go to the additionaleffort to make all of these items 'conditionally' compiled to be excludedfrom the Mac OS/9 platform, you would essentially end up with 4.5.1 plus ahandful of new tags. We simply didn't see the point in pursuing a WebDNA 5.0 for Mac OS/9 giventhe fact that most Mac OS/9 customers would find little reason to upgrade tosuch a limited set of available enhancements. In this case, there's no realjustification for the additional effort necessary to create and test such alimited capability 'special' 5.0 build. We will continue to support WebDNA4.5.X for Mac OS/9, including continuing to make it available for purchase, and addressing reported defects in future maintenance releases (as we willcontinue to support and provide bug fixes on all supported 4.5.X platforms). We have not abandoned our Mac OS/9 customers.
