We added a [lastautonumber] tag to the upcoming 5.1 build (Thank Nitai for the idea). This will give you the last auto-generated number for the last append or replace context where the AUTONUMBER parameter was used (in the current thread). We also added a [thisautonumber] tag for the append and replace context that will return the current auto-generated number for the current append/replace action (again, if the AUTONUMBER parameter was used). The 5.1 builds should be available by the end of next week. For now, you will need to do a search, with a descending sort on the SKU field, and have a max return of 1, to get the last SKU number generated.> -----Original Message----- > From: WebDNA Talk [mailto:WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com]On Behalf Of > Stuart Tremain > Sent: Friday, June 06, 2003 1:01 AM > To: WebDNA Talk > Subject: Autonumber > > > Hi > > When using AutoNumber > > [Append db=my.db&AutoNumber=SKU]name=stuart&country=Australia[/Append] > > Would I then have to do a search to get that number if I > wanted to get > that record back immediately ? > > Or is there a trick ? > > eg > > [Append db=my.db&AutoNumber=SKU]name=stuart&country=Australia[/Append] > > [Lookup > db=my.db&Value=******AutoNumber******&Lookinfield=SKU&Returnfi > eld=name] > > How can I carry the value into the lookup ? > > Do I have to do this? > > [Search > db=my.db&eqNAMEdatarq=Stuart&eqCOUNTRYdatarq=Australia][FoundI > tems][SKU] > [/FoundItems][/Search] > > > > Regards > > Stuart Tremain > idfk web developments > 114a/40 yeo street neutral bay 2089 australia > t +612 9908 2134 > f +612 9908 4837 > > > ------------------------------------------------------------- > This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to > the mailing list . > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > > Web Archive of this list is at: http://webdna.smithmicro.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
