Unfortunately, I cannot find a 'users guide' for the grep sources used in the engine. Perhaps at some point we will integrate a different 'grep' library. I realize that the current grep code does not include all the features one would expect from a grep engine, and the behavior can sometimes be puzzling. But, I have used it myself fairly often and I think it is still very useful. Certainly better than no grep at all. For the GREP documentation, it would be very helpful for those WebDNA programmers who have used the grep context, to submit their comments, suggestions, or tips, to the GREP 'user notes' section, of the online WebDNA docs on the DRC. http://webdna.smithmicro.com -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth Grome [mailto:kengrome@webdna.net] Sent: Monday, November 17, 2003 5:54 PM To: WebDNA Talk Subject: Grep support request for SMSI ... SMSI, if you're not willing to document (like you should) the grep that webdna uses, will you please give us the company you licensed it from -- so we can get the documentation directly from that company? Seems like you don't give a hoot about supporting your user's needs sometimes, even when a simple post to this list would make information available to those of us who need it ... :( -- Sincerely, Kenneth Grome ------------------------------------------------------------- Outsource your WebDNA programming for $18 an hour or less! ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
