According to the docs:
WebDNA normally compares all fields in a database as though they weretext, even if they look like dates to you. Unless you tell it to comparea field as a date (or as a time or a number), all comparisons are alphabetical.
So this means you can specify:
FIELDNAMEtype=date
FIELDNAMEtype=time
FIELDNAMEtype=num
I know it's a strange question but is there a way to specify
FIELDNAMEtype=alpha or FIELDNAMEtype=text
