Although I think this is a specific question for SMI, maybe if Scott Anderson is around he will have the quick answer.... After looking through archives for the past hour or more I see that several other people have had similar issues with the [sendmail] context. But I did not find any resolutions to any of the previous pleadings for help. I'm using Red Hat Linux 7.2 with V4.5.1 Here's the background of the issue: I have a page that checks a database for a variable, if it's not set then an email is produced sending a registration conformation to the user. Then the variable gets set. The page has been working for almost a year without issue. However I just tried to make the database check a little more complex and check/nest several other database searches around the [sendmail] and now suddenly this is happening... The issue: The [sendmail] is writing 1 copy of the email to the Outgoing Email Folder (EMailFolder/) but then SOMETIMES the email is getting sent twice. I checked all the log files, and I can clearly see the inconsistency that sometime the emails get sent once and sometimes twice, with the same .tpl page. I double-checked the log files on the server and I can clearly see where in the same second 2 emails are being sent. I have even added testing code on the page that would count iterations through the [sendmail], but it always comes back as 1 iteration. The page correctly changes the check variable, so even if the page got refreshed the email would not be sent a second time. I thought it was the Sendmail Server on my Red Hat box, so I changed my SMTP Mail Server to use another machine here and the same thing happen. Unfortunately it DOES seem like the problem is related to the new code I have written, but not directly. It looks like an internal bug to WebDNA 4.5.1. I was hoping someone might have figured out what causes this one. I would say this bug is acting as strangely as the bug that disallows [math]variable[/math] names from starting with a "-" sign (e.g. [math]--variable=7+[counter][/math] causes some really strange issues, whereas [math]__variable=7+[counter][/math] works just fine). Oddly enough I have a self written WebDNA group (Yahoo style group) also running on this same server with 25 users and a heavy load and I never get duplicated messages. Unfortunately even though I bought an upgrade to v6.0 for this server I can't upgrade until sometime in the fall when this customer is not running a trade show registration. I hope this was solved in v6. So there's my question for the cosmic void for the day.
