The other two domains are multihomed as well (or at least I think they are, they use shared ip addresses) but they worked without specifying the host in the tcpsend. Apparently the other two got the host from the tcpconnect but the third did not. I'll use this new method in all my tcpconnect/tcpsend contexts from now on.
