You'll have to change some default settings etc. ( Sorry, I don't have the OSX unixodbc tweeks :( I used Linux when I used 4.x and unixodbc worked. For OSX help, you might try the unixodbc list, the author answered my questions a few years ago, when I asked. 2) get unixodbc to talk to MySQL from the unixodbc cmd line. Under linux, I installed MyODBC from the rpm, to get all the dependencies, That would work as a 'localhost'. To get remote connections, I then compiled from source. As I remember I had permission problems, and it drove me nuts, until I seup Webmin, and the MySQL module made setting them easy. I still use Webmin on all my OSX and Linux boxes for Apache and MySQL admin. The latest MySQL plugin has a single button MySQL backup. Very handy. search the archive for my old Linux note: subject: fyi: getting ODBC MySQL ready for WebCat http://search.smithmicro.com/TalkListArchive/DetailResults.tpl? command=search&db=webdna-talk.db&eqIDdata=27611 - jim On Sep 22, 2004, at 11:43 AM, Clint Davis wrote: > Since I'm still running 4.5.1 under OS X, I need a little help > connecting to > a MS SQL database server.
