Cleaning up user input - fractions

texte = Just had a Windows user enter fractions (1/2 and 1/4) in a form, and when it wrote to the DB, they entered as upper ascii chars. It's messing things up and I want to convert them to normal 1/2 style fractions next time it happens. Using BBEdit to Zap Gremlins and Replace with Code, I can see how they ended up in the DB (\0xBA and \0x03A9); is this indicative of what they entered in the first place? The user reports that she entered ALT + 0188, and ALT +0189. How would I enter this in a convertchars DB? As I am on Macintosh, I can't test it.
