texte = Hi, I have come across a problem when trying to get a site to validate as = XHTML 1.0 Strict with non-SGML characters. I use the following to set = the charset on all my admin and display pages:- [setmimeheader name=3DContent-Type&value=3Dtext/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1] This ensures that all non-standard characters are stored and displayed = in a consistent format in the databases. When passed through the W3C = validator however characters such as the euro symbol and curly quotes = are resulting in 'non-SGML character' errors. =20 Does anyone know whether I can store the text using a different encoding = or does anyone have a method to translate these characters to entities = on the fly as the page is displayed - I have tried convertchars - but it = doesn't work - could it be that I need to change the encoding of the = convertchars database ?
