texte = Hi all I thought I post this information here if any of you want to use=20= the new MySQL 4.1.x build (current version 4.1.9). The =E2=80=9Cproblem=E2=80=9D is that, as long as applications li= ke WebDNA or others are not imbedding the new MySQL libs for 4.1=20= the clients will get an error message of the kind: =E2=80=9CClient does not support authentication protocol requeste= d by server; consider upgrading MySQL client=E2=80=9D Point is that in Version 4.1 of MySQL they have changed the passw= ord schema and thus =E2=80=9Cold=E2=80=9D clients can not connect= .. To resolve this issue one needs to change the password from the= new schema to the old schema. The code for this is (trough the m= ysql console): SET PASSWORD FOR 'some_user'@'some_host' =3D OLD_PASSWORD('newpwd= '); This all and more can be found at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/= en/Old_client.html.
