[OT] Visual Fox Pro vs. SQL

texte = Hey guys- I'm still investigating practice management software for our surgery office. One company's offering uses Visual Fox Pro 9. We would like to use wireless tablet PCs to check patients in and out, etc, which the SQL based products vendors support (they say). Also, we have two offices, so we want to have a centralized server that can be accessed from the other office via a VPN. The VFP 9 based product's vendor bad mouths wireless connections: "Unfortunately, wireless networks can present some serious problems to network database applications. With a correctly functioning wired network, data from your computers on the network will be available at all times. In a wireless network, this is not always the case. If a wireless connection is dropped while database files are open, the program will fail" (I read "the program will fail" to mean the database will become corrupted.) Using this logic, what happens to VFP 9 if the VPN network connection goes down during a database write? Is SQL more robust in this regard (I imagine it is)? The SQL flavors we're looking at are Sybase or Pervasive. How would the two compare with regard to integration with WebDNA? Sorry for the million questions -this software is pricy, so we trying to avoid buying a lemon!
