What you may do to find out where exactly the problem is would be to isolate each site and try it, page by page, keeping an eye on the CPU usage (/Utilities/Activity Monitor) using filter "web": it will show "WebDNAMonitor" and "Webcatalog" From Activity Monitor, you can also kill "Webcatalog": "WebDNAMonitor" will immediately restart it. You could also run the site locally on a powerbook with the developper version. chris On Aug 5, 2005, at 5:50, Paul Willis wrote: > Hi all > > We have had a problem recently on our XServe running OS X 10.3.9 > Server with Webdna Apache Module version 6.0a > > Suddenly webdna can't find includes, databases etc (even though > they are there and were working fine up until this point). > > Looking in terminal at "top -u" I see that WebCatalog is using > between 180% and 240% of the processor > > Restarting webdna nearly always fixes it although occasionally we > need to reboot the whole server. > > Sometimes when I restart webdna I see an odd message start > appearing in the terminal window, once I have issued the restart > message and then been returned to the prompt, some weird stats > start appearing.... > > [neptune:WebServer/CGI-Executables/WebCatalogEngine] neptune% > sudo ./webcatalogctl restart > ./webcatalogctl restart: WebDNAMonitor restarted > [neptune:WebServer/CGI-Executables/WebCatalogEngine] neptune% % > Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed > Time Curr. > Dload Upload Total Current > Left Speed > 100 1 100 1 0 0 35 0 0:00:00 0:00:00 > 0:00:00 0 > % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed > Time Curr. > Dload Upload Total Current > Left Speed > 100 553 100 553 0 0 16757 0 0:00:00 0:00:00 > 0:00:00 0 > % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed > Time Curr. > Dload Upload Total Current > Left Speed > 100 1 100 1 0 0 37 0 0:00:00 0:00:00 > 0:00:00 0 > % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed > Time Curr. > Dload Upload Total Current > Left Speed > 100 553 100 553 0 0 16264 0 0:00:00 0:00:00 > 0:00:00 0 > % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed > Time Curr. > Dload Upload Total Current > Left Speed > 100 1 100 1 0 0 21 0 0:00:00 0:00:00 > 0:00:00 0 > > > ...these stats will keep updating so long as I keep the window open. > > Do you think there is something wrong with my code or is the server > getting overloaded?
