As such we have a small box with no drives, just a compact flash card that the entire OS and application installs on. It takes very little room and in a co-loc environment you can maybe even stick it in the same space as a 1U rack server (if the server isn't too deep). They also offer a fail over capability. I am not the one that did the initial setup, but I do administer it on occasion. The small box we use (with the motherboard and alum. case) cost about $200.00 all told. You can get a small Linksys (I think) model 45wrt which allows you to make lots of modifications to and there are a number of people that have released modified firmware for that unit to provide better firewall capabilities than what was initially provided with the unit.Hope this helps.DaleTom Duke wrote:>Hi all,>>We're looking at co-locating a server (Windows 2003 based) with our ISP.>I was just wondering what firewalls people were using to protect their>webservers - are there ones that are particularly suited to use with>webservers ?>>Thanks>- Tom> >-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
