texte = Hi Bess Ho, I have no symptoms at all. As for drinking, I have not found any reference to it causing a kidney tumor but smoking could be a contributing factor as it is with pretty much all cancers. There is no concrete cause for kidney cancer or what triggers the defective cell growth. There have been studies that have shown that exposure to petrolium products causes kidney tumors to develop in mice.=20 Carcinigens such as Benzene and MTBE have also been observed to cause kidney tumors in mice and rats at higher doses both inhaled and consumed. I was curious about this, so I did some digging to see if there was any contaminated areas in my neighborhood. What I fouind was rather disturbing. Within .33 miles in almost every direction, I am surrounded by underground tanks from gas stations that have leaked into the soil and ground water. Both MTBE and Benzene are included.
