Should we use the>1.6 or the 2.x beta version ?If WCS is using the b10 version of WebCatalog 2.0 then I would definitelysay yes, the beta of 2.0 is very solid and stable. Furthermore, it has somany new and extremely powerful features and capabilities that I wouldhighly recommend that you forget all about version 1.6. So many things havechanged with version 2.0 that you'll have to go back and relearn everythingover again if you start with 1.6 ... and that's definitely *not* somethingyou want to do, believe me.However, I don't think your time framework is realistic. This is extremelypowerful software, and that means it's going to take some learning timebefore you will understand how it works. Don't expect to learn it all in afew days, although you can certainly have the basics up and running by then.I've been testing the beta since before Grant started giving it versionnumbers, and there's still a lot of capabilities and features I'm learningtoday - and I've spent hours a day literally for months on this newsoftware. My suggestion is that if you've already got your own internally scriptedand maintained on-line store up and running on the net, stay with it until*after* you've create your WCS replacement solution, preferably on a spareMac. There are things you're likely to run into with WCS that will take youmore than a few minutes to figure out, especially since you have little orno experience with this software. That said, I think you will not find a better solution than WCS. As Grantmentioned the other day, WebCatalog 2.0 is like having NetCloak + NetForms+ WebSiphon + WebSentinel + Tango/Lasso + Verona/Butler/FMPro Server +WebCommerce Solution Lite + WebGenesis + Interaction + FlexMail all rolledinto one. It is truly awesome software for Mac Webmasters.Sincerely,Ken
