Try removing the content-type variable. At least as a test to =rule itout (or determine the cause). I say this because I never use content-type= and never have these problems.

This has got everyone stumped.
The only thing sure at this =point is that things are not what they
appear. I mean thethings that are happening are not actually fairly
*caused* by what yo=u think now.
Subject lines can be quitelong. I don't know how long.. but most
definitely longer t=han 8 chars.
There has GOT to be errors elsewhere that are causi=ngwhat you are
seeing.
If I were you, I would literally start over.=.. strip everything down
to a blank page.. and add things one tiny th=ingat a time back in (and
testing at every step) until you find the real= culprit(s).
