I don't seem to find any of these in the docs that I have.>Are there others?I don't know what docs you have, but there are HTML docs that come withevery new WebCat2 beta, and they will tell you most of the things you'retrying to learn as a beginner ... but you're going to have to spend plentyof time going thru every page - more than once - because there's a LOT tolearn, and it takes repetition to sink in.The HTML docs could be better organized, so sometimes you have to look inplaces that aren't obvious, but it's all there, so just go thru them atleast twice in the beginning ...This software does awesome things, but you have to be very serious abouttrying to learn as much as possible on your own ... especially things likethe meaning of wo and other basics like that.I'm not trying to come down on you for not knowing what wo is used for,I'm just making the best suggestions I know to help you learn this softwareas quickly as possible. The more you study the HTML docs, the moreproductive you will be.Many of us on this list who have experience with WebCat2 are generally veryhappy to help you ... after you've studied the docs and learned the basics.I've been writing WebDNA for more than 8 months now, and I still have tolook at the HTML docs nearly every day. They are not ideal, but they are atremendous help to beginners as well as experts, and they should be openand available every minute you are trying to work with WebCat2.Pacific Coast Software maintains an online version of these docs as well... which are essentially the same ones you should have received with yourcopy of WebCat2. If you don't have them on your own computer, you shoulddefinitely get online and use them. Here's their location, please bookmarkthis URL, it will be very valuable to you as you continue to use WebCat2more and more:http://test.smithmicro.com/webcatreference/>What is the relationship between PCS & Maxum? I noted that the tag list>started with Copyright 1996 Maxum Develoment Corp...TagBuilder is a free tool from Maxum, that's all, so PCS includes a WebDNAtag file as a convenience to its customers. There's no other relationshipbetween them that I know of, they are two separate companies.>In my brief study of WebCat2, it seems that I can do everything that I am>doing with NetCloak/NetForms combo. Am I wrong? You can do ALMOST everything - and tons of additional things that NetCloakcannot even come close to offering - so yes, you are essentially correct.>On the surface I did NOT see ways to use counters, or ways to use IF THEN>statements. There are no IF THEN statements, there are showif/hideif contexts. It'sjust a different method of doing the same thing, and it's better suited toHTML. Counters can be created, they are not something you can justimplement by adding a tag - but WebDNA counters offer much more valuableinformation if you do them right.I hope this information helps you to become a satisfied WebDNA programmer.Welcome to the family! :)Sincerely, Ken Grome ..... ken@iav.comhttp://usarea.net/home.html
