texte = I see at macworld boston the Apple released a bunch of new workgroups servers that come with 1 meg of inline cache. Since I use webcatalog to cache all docs I assume I will see a dramtic speed increase over my old 7100/80 forgetting pure processor speed. What I am really asking if I was to replace a server I would be smart to look at lineline or backside cache and that this would speed up webcatalog cached served docs? Anybody have comments on what I might expect?Speaking of cache...I have a dumb question. When I display a very large webcatalog database over a 28.8 dial up account it pours out in excess of 3.0K per sec. The template when filled aproaches about 90K. However images using webstar cache come in always in around the 1.4 K per sec range. Why is this? Is there something about the webcatalog cache system that is better then the webstar cache system? Or is there a webstar setting that somebody thinks I should look at. I will not be able to respond to comments until next monday. Off to the PGA championship at Wing Foot and watch a pure golf course eat Tiger Woods lunch:)=============================================== Gary Richter PanaVise Products, Inc. 7540 Colbert Dr. Reno, Nevada 89511 Ph: 702.850.2900 Fx: 702.850.2929 Email: grichter@panavise.com http://www.panavise.com =============================================== Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
