texte = Sniped from the apple workgroup server mailing list Saw an interesting rumour (http://www.geocities.com/WallStreet/7744/chirp_971006.html) that says Sys 8 system CDs will boot on an IBM PPC box, meaning that Mac ROMs are not required. And a snip from the above url 2 customers of mine, to whom I sold IBM PPC based NT servers have reported that MacOS 8 boots from either CD or hard drive, working completely, with the exception of the pc floppy drive. Hmm guess you need to consider the fact that an IBM NT server is PPC based and these boxes had the new CHIRP insides.I can see Grant or Jay in a future post, now what version of webcat are your running? Is it MacOS or NT-OS? And what box are you running it on MacPPC, IBM PPC Chirp or a ????There isn't enough wine for Jay and rootbeer for Grant in San Diego County for the upcomming headaches if this is true (weg). The best line on the above url is found at the bottom of the page And, if those IBM PPC WinNT Servers Running Mac OS 8 Reports are true, then IBM could easily say to Apple: License? Who Needs A Stinking License? We Don't Need No Stinking License... Not to mention Motorola, etal. Can you say Mac OS 8 /Rhapsody Coupon Ware? We thought you could. Nice try.
