texte = Regarding how WebCat logs errors.I've a page which gets user information and [writefile]s it back out in a tab-delimited format. Internally, those separate files are imported into FileMaker for storage and review. Several times a day, someone goes to a web-based form that has a list of all these separate files, checks off a box that marks the ones deemed bad in the prior review and pushes a button that adds the contents of all the remaining files to a currently active database.Works fine, but here's the problem. When the processing button is pushed, a loop begins to cycle through all these files. If the associated checkbox is marked, the file is [movefile]d into a bad folder. Otherwise, the file is copied with a .db on the end, a default header file is copied with the same name and .hdr on the end and the contents are opened and searched as a database. After this information is stored in a master database, the newly created .db and .hdr files are deleted, the temp database is closed, and the original file is moved to a completed folder. Everything seems ok, but when I look at my errorlog.txt I find:Error: the database '[filename].db' could not be found or opened Error: the database 'badfile1.db' could not be found or opened Error: the database 'badfile2.db' could not be found or opened Error: the database 'badfile3.db' could not be found or openedWhere badfile1 - badfile3 are the files that got checked as bad, are moved to that bad folder and because of a [hideif], *never get searched!*How is WebCatalog parsing these pages? Are all databases that have the potential to be accessed on a page opened when that page is initially processed (as it appears here) or are they only opened when they are requested to be? Are there any other activities that WebCat will perform *even* if they are being blocked by a [hideif] tag?Sorry for the long post, but I'm hoping that the answer will shed some light on other regularly occurring mystery database errors that are only appearing in the log file as well.Rob Marquardt Designer/Resident Wirehead Toast Design300 First Avenue North, Suite 150 Minneapolis MN 55401 612.330.9863 v 612.321.9424 f www.toastdesign.com Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
