[lookup] still not working
This WebDNA talk-list message is from 1998
It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 20659

texte = Bob,I tried the code that you suggested that I use, and it is not working. Iam not quite sure what I am doing wrong. I tried many differentvariations of this, trying to find the problem with the code, but noluck so far. The lookup acts as if it is finding the item that is beinglooked-up in the database even though it is not there. No matter whatthe value of variable [cpassword] (which is submitted on the previouspage), it always shows the first statement (which should be hidden ifthe content of [cpassword] is not found in the database). Here is thecode for one of my attempts:
[hideif notfound=[lookupdb=AKcustomers.db&lookinfield=custpassword&value=[cpassword]&returnfield=custpassword¬found=notfound]]Sorry, that username already exists, please select a different username.
[/hideif][Showif notfound=[lookupdb=AKcustomers.db&lookinfield=custpassword&value=[cpassword]&return=custpassword¬found=notfound]] [Append db=AKcustomers.db]eMail=[eMail]&BillFirstName;=[BillFirstName]&BillInitial;=[BillInitial]&BillLast;=[BillLast]&BillCompany;=[BillCompany]&BillTitle;=[BillTitle]&BillAddr1;=[BillAddr1]&BillCity;=[BillCity]&BillState;=[BillState]&BillZip;=[BillZip]
[/Append] Thank you [BillFirstName]! Your customer information has been saved. Commit your password to memory for future ordering: ([cpassword]) [/showif] Any suggestions as to what is wrong? (This is the first time I have used[lookup])Thanks,Mike
