I guess I'm interested in how the cost breaks out in various situations (one application redistributed or many applications hosted). In some situations, is the cost of WebDNA cheaper than MySQL + PHP or is it even close? -----Original Message----- From: Nitai @ ComputerOil Sent: Fri, 4 Mar 2005 02:20:22 +0100 To: "WebDNA Talk" Subject: Re: WebDNA - fun to compare Thanks John. I was just pointing out to Ken's posting about PHP and why WebDNa is not money making machine for him, that MySQL is not free, IF one does NOT distribute it's own product as open source. Just as you pointed out "There is no charge as long as the application is under the GPL and the source is freely distributed, including a commercial application."
