Date format question

It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 21338
interpreted = N
texte = I have a field called Pubdate (which is not today's date).By default when it is returned from a search it is formatted from my preferences file as %d/%m/%y.How can I get it to format as %B (June, July etc) without changing my preferences file?
