texte = A site I developed on the mac has certain fields in certain databases encrypted for security. I encrypted and successfully decrypted them using a seed which happened to be 10 alphanumeric characters. On moving the site to a Win2K box the decryption no longer seems to work. I specifically used a seed because I want to be able to decrypt these fields on any box running any OS.Is there a problem using a seed greater than 8 characters? I notice the pdf docs specifiy an eight character seed. Is this critical? How can I ensure that encrypted fields can be decrypted if I move from one box to another? What if my box burns up? How would I recover those encrypted fields from the backup? I thought using the seed parameter would take care of this.------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
