texte = I have a project I am working on and wonder which way will be the best tosolve the solution the client needs. It for a newspaper that has asearchable archive of data. They have to sections that displays the data, one is a traditional search are that customer pay access to and an other isa 'daily' section that has public access. They want to Display only thatdays data in the public section, and I have that working fine. What I aminterested in is how to build the admin section of what information isdisplayed. There are 30 odd databases and the data displayed is based on either a rangeof dates or a range of serial numbers. Should I build a separate databasethat the daily pages perform lookups into as part of it search criteria orshould I build an include file that just lists name=value pairs for eachdatabase. It comes down to either doing a lookup in a search context or pulling in aninclude file declaring variable values ([DataBaseOneRange]=73482+73528) thatgets used in the search context. I think the latter would be more efficientbut I am not sure about caching issues, in other words if the clientperforms an update to the file, should we need to purge apache's cache forit to take?Any insight into this matter would be greatly appriciated.-- Eric Ridgley, Web/Graphic Designer...............Phone: 330.630.4487Silver Creek, Ltd. ...............Fax: 330.630.5786143 Northwest Avenue, Suite B101 ...............URL: www.silvercreek.net/Tallmadge Ohio 44278 ...............URL: www.ridgley.org/-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
