It apparently is unstable and causes the server to crash. Here is our position on the matter. We have no idea of what Starni...er...ACI is doing. There are apparently problems with WebStar 4.3 that we think are inherent within WebStar itself and has little, if anything, to do with MGI. But even if there is a problem with the combination, we can not really do anything about it until WebStar 4.3 goes GM. Why?Because I really don't want to waste our time fixing things only to have to fix them again and again until WebStar 4.3 finally does come out as a stable code base; the folks at Starni...er...ACI do not have a very good history of putting out good beta products that can be developed around while their beta is still in development. Given what is going on at Starni...er,.. ACI right now, I have very little confidence that they are doing much more than sitting with their thumbs up their butts while scratching their foreheads trying to figure out what to do next. For those who do not know, Scott is no longer with the company (the former president,) and Eric just quit today. That either means that WebStar is in serious trouble or it could be that ACI has enough on-board talent to recover quickly from the loss of at least two key people (I say only because I have heard of other folks who have bolted, though I don't know what their exact positions were with the company.). I really hope it is the latter, but only time will tell.Nonetheless, if there are any issues at all between WebStar 4.3 and MGI, they will be fixed very quickly as soon as we have something stable to fix against. Until then, I remind everyone that you should never run a beta of anything on a live production machine under any circumstances.-- Steve Crisp PagePlanet Software, Inc.
