texte = [protect] and [authenticate] pop up the remote browser's authenticate dialog. What the user inputs in there will get into [username] and [password] if what they input meets the conditions which if not met will cause the [protect] or [authenticate] to show.The other way to get the [username] and [password] values into the browser's cache is to build an URL with the [username] and [password] values in the URL - and redirect to it - where on that target page you have a [protect] or [authenticate] that the user will pass (not have to see because their input hides the [protect] or [authenticate] tag).
