texte = StartAt is really a function of search, not shownext, although they worktogether. It is, suprisingly, still undocumented after all these years. If you use ShowNext, it will create a [SearchString] which will returnall the records in each chunk of [max] records. So for example, if yoursearch returns 45 records and your max=10, you will get 5 links, corresponding to 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, and 41-45. Within the [searchstring] will be [startat] corresponding to the initial value in each range (i.e. 1, 11, 21, etc).NOTE: the [SearchString] tag includes _everything_ you need, includingcommand=search, so don't add that as well. If you do, and your usersbrowse back and forth, everytime they click one of these links, it willgrow longer by &command=search, and will eventually bomb out your webserver.I do not like having all those links eating up valuable real-estate onthe screen, so I long ago came up with the following method:Then I have graphics files for Next Set, Previous Set before and aftermy found items and use the above URL's to link to the appropriate pages.See any of my MultiBook pages at http://www.RowmanLittlefield.comand do a quick search for anything (I always use sex since I know Iwill always get a few hits ;~).HTHJohn PeacockKelly.Madden@decisionconsultants.com wrote:> > HI,> > I am using WebCat 4.0 .
