Thus for me, if I have a store that has burtonbattery.com and burtonbatteries.com I have to pay $100 for this one store. Since the reality is that I have 30 domain names for that future store, it makes WebDNA's new pricing model untenable to use as my scripting software for that application. But I do wonder how by domain is figured? are burtons.com, www.burtons.com, humor.burtons.com, and webdna.burtons.com all one domain, or several?I would also like to say, that if I am right about any of the above (instead of selling it per sandbox) then I really don't care how many bridges I burn here, this is the stupidest pricing model I have ever seen. This will singlehandedly kill using webDNA as a basic scripting language to perform basic functions on simple websites. Things like form to email, and personal blogs, and other small things will have to get ported to other languages simply because no one will pay for WebDNA usage rights to do these things. At that point, since you've opened the door to using another language, it's a matter of time until the developer standardizes for ease of code management on the alternate (cheaper) language.Don't get me wrong, I still love WebDNA. It makes sense for SmithMicro to get paid for extra business use of their server software. A business will need the extra security of the sandbox feature. That makes logical sense, I can SELL the services of a virtual secured server. I can not go back to my customers and tell them they have to pay more to host a domain name then to register it in the first place. Brian B.
