How many lookups does it take ...

We need to get the following information for user with the ID = 10 [FirstName] [LastName] [DateOfBirth] [Phone] [Address] [City] etc Is it faster to do Lookups since we know the ID or a single search? I know lookup is faster than search but when does it make more sense to do a search? After 5 lookups? 10? 20? What do you think?
