As demonstrated by the tmp files I believe. Since user interaction with the site causes these updates, I cant see a spider being an issue, unless I missed the significance of that. My log files are about 3 gigs per month in size and as such would be a bit of an issue trying to get through them. But here is the weird thing... This was occurring with some regularity from midday tues. till about 10 minutes before I 'accidentally' noticed the files in the DIR. Since removing all the tmp db's from the dir it has not occurred since, when I KNOW the db has been updated. I guess I really need to start by understanding 'when and why' WebCAT creates a tmp db, and under what context would it keep creating it indefinitely. God help me if it had happened on another db that was 20-30 megs in size. Within in a few hours I would have a dead server! It seems that whatever the cause of this, the logic of WebCat creating tmp file indefinitely, quietly filling up a HD is insane.
