As far as which version of Windows is the best fit for you check the MS site for details, but here are some details in a nutshell Web Edition - basically runs IIS. Cannot be a domain controller Standard - Runs Windows server features. IIS, DNS, WINS, Active Directory, Domain Controller. Small Business - Same as above but also has Exchange built in. More resource intensive. The long and the short of it, if you are just going to serve web pages go with the Web Edition.
